Community Garden Project

The Town of Parrsboro and Community Health Board (SPAR), have joined forces to offer Parrsboro residents access to a community garden.

A community garden provides members with fresh, healthy and affordable food and many other benefits including social interaction, beautifying your community, encouraging environmental sustainability as well as promoting active living and healthy eating.  Community gardening is also an opportunity to share and learn with others of all ages about the environment around you and how we can make a difference.

Currently there are 12 4' x 6' raised garden plots and 2 raised higher for those with mobility limitations.  The bed and soil will be provided free of charge, as well as water access.  Seeds, tools, etc., will be your responsiblity, as well as weeding and care of your garden.  Garden plots can be used by community members, groups and workplaces.  You can plant vegetables, herbs or flowers in your garden.  Garden plots are assigned on a first come, first served basis.

If you are interested in a plot or would like more information, contact Tissy Bolivar at 254-2036 or email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
