Upcoming Programs

Indoor Walking Club - Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the Parrsboro Firehall from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.  All ages and abilities welcome. FREE!

Basketball - Fridays from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm at the High School Gym.  $2/night.

Adult Cooking Series - Runs the first Wednesday of each month until June from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at the Anglican Church Hall.  We will feature a different instructor and menu each month.  $15/class.

Card Making Workshops - Join instructor Barb Himelman to create your own greeting cards.  Sunday, May 5th; and Sunday, June 2nd from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm at the Town Hall.  $20/class.

Scrapbooking Workshops - Instructor Jodie Desmarais will guide you through preserving your own photos with scrapbooking.  Saturday, April 20th; Saturday, May 25th; and Saturday, June 22nd from 2:00pm-4:00pm at the Town Hall.  $10/class

Busy Bees - Tuesdays from April 2nd - May 7th for ages 5+ (school age) and Thursdays from April 4th - May 9th for ages under 5.  Both groups will run from 2:45pm-4:00pm.  Pick up and drop off at Parrsboro Elementary School.  Snack included! $10/6 weeks or $2 drop-in.

Geology Gems - In partnership with the Fundy Geological Museum, we will be running a five week program for all ages to learn about the rocks and minerals in our area with two special exploration days where we will explore the beach.  Wednesdays, from May 1st - 29th from 2:45pm-4:30pm.  Exploration days will run until 5:00pm.  $20/5 weeks OR $5 drop-in.

Kids in the Kitchen - Mondays, May 27th - June 17th from 2:45pm-4:30pm at the Town Hall for ages 5-10.  Sign up early as limited space is available.  $16/4 weeks

Spring Hikes - Sunday, May 26th - Wards Falls and Sunday, June 23rd - Partridge Island.  All ages and abilities welcome.  Meet at the Town Hall at 1:00pm.  FREE!

Cumberland Minor Football

On April 21st, 2010 Minor Football came to Cumberland County.  A "Call of Interest" was placed in schools and over 50 students signed up, boys and girls.  To date there is enough interest to form a Mosquito team, 2 Atom teams and 1 Pee Wee and almost one Bantam team.  New players are needed to make this a success- join now to show your interest and help make Sport History in Cumberland County!  For more information: cumberlandwolfpack

Barry Wood Memorial Outstanding Achievement Award

Purpose:  To give special recognition for outstanding achievements.

Criteria: 1) Must be an individual, group or team either professional or amateur.

2) Must reside or have resided or represent a group, team or club within the Parrsboro School district.

3) Must place first, second or third in a provincial competition or qualify to participate in a national or international event, or make a distinct contribution to their field.

Award Structure:  All those honoured will be presented with a gold lapel pin and names will be placed on an honour roll. 

Selection Process:  Eligible recipients will be determined by the Recreation Committee upon receipt of that name from the public.

Presentation:  Awards will be presented at the first council meeting following the achievement taking place.
