Mummichogs are Fish Designed for Survival.  Come to the Fundy Geological Museum to see a school of Mummichogs in an aquarium, and hear about their ability to survive on earth and in outer space.  At 2:00pm we will put on our boots and go to the saltmarsh to try and catch some.

Engineers and staff from the Municipality of Cumberland will provide updates on the design and construction of the new treatment faciility.

Representatives from the Energy Authority and Plan Cumberland will also be available for questions.

Plein Air Festival - Parrsboro Style! (Fri. 16 Jun, 2017 9:00 am)

Join us for a weekend of festivities!  On June 16, 17 & 18 thirty-seven top plein air artists are coming to Parrsboro from Maine, Ontario, Quebec, the Atlantic Provinces, New Jersey, Ohio and Massachusetts.  They will compete for $6,000 in cash awards, and you can see them painting the spectacular Bay of Fundy/Parrsboro Shore from Bass River to Advocate.

Plein air - painting in the open air - is the hottest art movement in North America.  Parrsboro Creative has joined this amazing network by creating its own event, which wil be the first international Plein Air Festival in Canada.

These festivals are a wonderful way to bring artists and the public together in a celebrational experience that gives people an opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors while also having the chance to witness the creation of new works of art.  And who knows, you might see a one-of-a-kind, beautiful painting to buy and take with you!

Festival Entertainment -

After Painting Social, Friday, June 16, 7-9pm on the deck at Ship's Company Theatre - mix and mingle with the artists.  Admission free, everyone welcome! 

Music - Saturday, June 17, 8:30-10:30pm.  Ethan Ash at Blackrock Bistro.

Festival Art Events -

Collectors' Gala, Saturday, June 17, 8-10pm at The Hall, 44 King Street.  First viewing of the paintings and presentation of Awards.  Catered with goumet appetizers and wine.  Tickets purchased in advance. Admission $100, which can be put towards the purchase of a painting.

Giant Art Sale, Sunday, June 18 - 74 new works on display at The Hall, 44 King Street, Parrsboro, 10:00am - 5:00pm - admission free.

Quick Draw Contest, Sunday, June 18.  This contest is open to everyone. Sign up is 11:00am-noon.  Fee to compete - $10.  Contest 12:00 to 2:00pm.  All drawings on display at the Bandstand for judging at 2:30pm.
